Galactosamine is another member of the eight essential sugars and is the least known.
Its medical name is N-acetylgalactosamine.
This essential sugar is also important for proper cell to cell communication.
This is important for cell to cell communication in normal systemic functions in such diseases as cancer, inflammation and immunity.
Research is very new on this essential sugar and little is known for sure but what has been found is that people with heart disease have a lower than normal level of this essential sugar. It also appears that it helps with joint function and may help with inflammation.
