One pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories (1 pound = .0.453592 kilos). To be as safe and as healthy as possible a real goal to strive for is to lose one to two pounds a week. To lose one pound in a week’s time, you will need to burn off 3500 more calories than you will take in over the course of the week it’s not as difficult to do as it sounds.

You don’t need to spend fifty dollars, let alone hundreds of dollars, on weights in order to exercise your upper body. You already have all sorts of things around the house that can be used as effective substitutes.
When you are just starting out in home exercise, light weights like canned food can do the trick. This isn’t about making your muscles big, it’s about making them healthy.
A home gym can make for a convenient way of staying in shape as well as helping you feel good about yourself. In the end, it’s probably a shame that more people don’t give this sort of thing a try.
Most people who go to the gym do so through gym memberships to big corporate owned gyms that have been springing up around Canada and the USA just about as fast as Starbucks.
Home gyms can also lack in the area perks of the chain gyms. There are no exercise classes waiting for you in your basement nor will there be a personal trainer ensuring you’re doing everything you need to be doing, let alone doing it right.
These are some of the reasons that for some home gyms just don’t cut it. If this sounds like you then you would be better off using the money for a gym membership or take up jogging instead.
Because working out in your home gym doesn’t have to lack entertainment. Nor does it mean you have to miss “The Mentalist” after all. A TV will help keep you in your routine because you can just be sure to workout during the shows you watch anyway.
There’s no excuse not to when you plan like that because “I have to be sitting on the couch now” isn’t a way to justify getting off the treadmill.
Putting together your own home gym is a great idea, as it puts the equipment you need right in your home and saves a lot of gym membership money in the long run.
Once you have all of those things together, your home gym will serve you well. From there onward, you’ll no doubt come up with other things to add and perhaps take away.
Not only can it be easy to put a home gym together but it can be done by taking advantage of very little space. A home gym doesn’t need to be a house gym or a basement gym either.
It can easily be a living room gym or an apartment gym. It’s all about how you plan and what you decide you need.
In recent years home exercise has become more of a rarity. Workouts are things that are associated with paid gym memberships, group outings or sports teams.
For a lot of people, if it wasn’t for all the money they dished out to get to one of a dozen treadmills at their local fitness club they likely wouldn’t get any workout at all.
