What Is The Best Way To Lose Body Fat Fast
Many people need to lose some weight and mainly body fat, that’s a fact. Look around where people gather, you’ll see it everywhere, and unfortunately, it’s only going to get worse. I wrote this post back in 2009, and now obesity is spiralling out of control in most Western countries.
Look in the mirror. Unfortunately, you’ll likely see it there too.
When your goal is a fast fat loss strategy, keep these simple things in mind to lose the pounds quickly and safely. However, a word of warning, many who do this only have limited results, and weight usually returns faster than you took it off.
Don’t Skip Meals
When people want to lose weight one of the most common things they do is to skip meals. It makes sense, right, cut out the calories by eating one less meal. The lower the calorie intake means losing weight, right?
Yes, but skipping meals is a mistake, not the right way to reduce calories. Your body thinks it’s being starved when you skip meals. It goes into starvation mode.
It starts to retain fat to counteract what it perceives as being starved. Another problem with skipping meals is that when you finally eat you’ll be a lot more hungry.
The result is binge eating.
Skipping a meal plus binge eating, then, will likely result in eating more calories and the body gaining even more weight from those calories than usual.
It’s the worst of both worlds. Don’t skip meals.
You Need A Plan
Have a stable and viable plan on how much to eat. Portion control is just as important as eating the right food. Overindulgence of even the best of foods will still result in weight gain. Portion control isn’t easy when large portions are so common.
Many restaurants whether fast food or traditional and even most of us doing home cooking serve portions far higher than what is needed or required to maintain a healthy weight. Our eyes always seem to be bigger than our bellies, and if we don’t overcome this trend, we will become a planet of overweight and very unhealthy people.
Sources such as the FDA list recommended daily allowances. You should also always consider the portion size when you eat out at restaurants, especially if you visit McDonald’s or other fast food restaurants. You’ll likely have to cut down on what a restaurant serves to you or start to order a smaller meal as an appetiser.
Eat whole grain foods, skip the white grains such as white bread, sugar and white rice. Whole grains are lower in fat and higher in nutrients. With the added fibre in whole grain, it will make you feel contented faster and last much longer stopping the after-meal snacks. Also, whole grains contain many nutrients that are often lacking in people’s diets.
Drink More Water
Drink it instead of juices and sodas which add about 90,000 calories to the average person’s diet each year. Drink it between meals too. The goal is eight glasses of water each day. It’s easily possible. Drinking water will also promote health in general by keeping you well hydrated and fresh.
You should also take the time to learn more about how water can keep you healthy as it’s a gift from nature.
To maintain proper blood sugar eat healthy snacks between meals since the body needs food every three to four hours. Healthy snacks such as grapefruit also help control eating at meal times.
A fast fat loss diet isn’t out of your reach with a little knowledge, understanding and of course planning. It won’t be long before you’re slimmer and trimmer.
I totally agree with you, do not skip meals if you want some diet just to have lost body fat. There might me a bad side effects with that. Many activities could help to lose fat in a short period of days. Yeah, we drink a lot of water. I do that habitually also and I got some benefits with it.
whe we lose a few pounds quickly and feel great but no matter what you do the fat always comes back with a vengeance.we should take responsibility for our life and our future body shape by making adjustments to the things we eat, how often we eat them and of course, our exercise levels.
the best way to loss weight is to burn more calories than we consume. If we reduce our calorie intake too much then our body tries to compensate by lowering our metabolism to make the calories we are consuming go further.it not only burns unwanted fat but also our lean muscle and other organs to give us the energy we need to keep going while we’re not eating enough calories. To avoid burning off your muscle instead of fat you should aim to lose weight slowly.Drinking water will also promote health in general by keeping us well hydrated and cool.i think this is the best way to loss weight.
last year i have so much Body fat because of a very bad diet and lack of exercise. now i am doing lots of Cardio to reduce the fat specially on my tummy.
Losing weight is not the easiest thing in the world- but it is SO worth it…I struggled for years when trying to diet- the weight only really began to come off when I stopped trying to lose weight- I began to make food choices that would be good for my health rather than concentrating on my weight all the time. That seems to make the world of difference.
Wow that’s really interesting. It took me a while to figure out how to respond and I hope I did it the right way. I’ve been getting some errors when trying to comment but I’m glad that it worked out in the end. Love your site and I totally agree with you on this! Good job and keep up the good work!
i totally agree, whenever I tried skipping meals to lose weight I ended up just feeling too tired to get to the gym. Now I try to eat 5-6 small meals a day and I feel much better.
Funny you should say that Kara as many dietitians will also tell you the same thing and that is to have small meals throughout the day and not have a large meal at night as you can not burn off those calories effectively.
It starts to retain fat to counteract what it perceives as being starved. Another problem with skipping meals is that when you finally eat you’ll be a lot more hungry. The result is binge eating. Skipping a meal plus binge eating, then, will likely result in eating more calories and the body gaining even more weight from those calories than normally. It’s the worst of both worlds. Don’t skip meals.
Leraned a lot
Its so true that you have to eat in small portions! Think about it, any time you eat more than your body is going to burn in the next few hours, it gets stored as fat…exactly what we don’t want!
Fat is one of the side effect for our good health. Drink more water to avoid form fat.Avoid to eat at anytime.Follows to eat regular time daily.
It’s better to lose weight naturally. Do proper exercise regularly. Eat high fiber foods for a high fiber diet – choose these high fiber foods to increase your fiber intake
Practicing these tips to lose body fat are essential if you want to lose weight, bodyfat and gain a lean, muscular appearance. Set a goal to lose 1/2 a pound to a pound per week. As long as you are achieving this keep doing what you’re doing. If you stop losing weight then it’s time to increase your cardio, reduce the amount you are eating or both.
The best way to lose fat is to fast on juices. when I want to lose unwanted fat, I fast on juices for a week or ten days. I don ‘t have enough time or space to tell you all about it, but it is great for your body. Your digestive system shuts down for a few days and you can drink as much fresh squeezed juice (fruits and veggies) as you want. It will be a drag the first day or two then you will have so much energy, your body will feed off of the stored fat in your body, works for me. In ten days you should lose about ten to fifteen pounds.
Don’t skip meals.
good idea
Participate in an aerobic exercise. (Such as cycling or spinning) this type of work out utilizes your muscle while working your heart at the same time and burns a lot of calories in the beginning.
Nice article. I find this simple rule of thumb worked really well for me: cut out sugar-laden and processed foods. I had great results by focusing my diet on the leftovers (i.e. fresh fruit & veg, lean meats etc). No need to count calories, just healthy eating with real food – that’s the key.
Its true that your body goes into starvation very easily….. you can actually trick it by eating less one day and more another. Its a great trick for burning fat and it also really helps when trying to stick to a harder diet
Going natural on losing weight really helps a lot of dieters today. Water, fruits, vegetables, fish, and many more can help a person lose weight safely as well as achieve a fit body. Plus, a combination of exercises can get the job done.
Calorie cycling is a good way to trick the body into not going into starvation mode. This works when you hit a plateau and do not see results
Definitely agree with the tip about drinking water.
I also find that green tea between meals helps keep hunger at bay. What most people think is hunger is probably just boredom!
Skipping a meal plus binge eating, then, will likely result in eating more calories and the body gaining even more weight from those calories than normally. It’s the worst of both worlds.
Proper diet and daily exercise is the best way I can see to have a fast improvement for you body fitness.
Losing weight should be done though diet and exercise – the quick and easy route never works…. Just work hard and be rewarded!
Exactly correct! Skipping meals is not the best method to lose weight. I once tried the same when I found myself gaining weight unnecessarily then what happened is that I gained twice what I had making me uncomfortable but when I endured the method of taking less fat foods and drinking a lot of water after every quality meal I took my health came back to normal. Our bodies need space also you don’t need to eat quantity but carefully quality less fat meals!
Drinking water is great ,eating 5 smaller meals a day helps cut out the binging, choose healthy eating foods that you like yourself so you are not going to get bored
Hi Antjon
Yes it is all about changing a few ways that you eat, once you can master that you will then start to see the results that you want.
I think there are too many diet advice out there that advocates to skip meals – this is terrible for your metabolism! Thank you for advocating to stick to eating your meals. It is usually not about how much you eat rather about what it is you eat! Great tips!
I totally agree with you to lose a weight proper plan has to be planned and executed you can’t just go for any diet plan without knowing its pros and cons.
