Fortunately, there are plenty of things you can do to reduce your risk of developing atherosclerosis. First, you may need to make some changes to your diet. Try to consumer three to five servings of vegetables each day, eat as much fiber as you can to remove toxins from the body and increase your energy.
Also, try to exercise for at least half an hour each day; this will improve your blood flow and help to release toxins.
Keep in mind that just because you see lots of products these days that say ‘low fat’ or ‘fat free’ in the grocery store, this is not an automatic indication that the product is healthy for you to consume.
You’ll need to read the ingredients carefully to find out if there is any trans fat present in the food item, and you’ll have to compare the amount of fat in this food with the other foods that you’re incorporating into your diet for the week to make sure that your levels stay down.
If you're used to eating fast food every day for lunch, or if you always eat dessert after dinner, these habits can be a little hard to break right away, so you'll want to wean yourself from certain foods a little at a time so that you don't get frustrated and stop the process altogether.
